This dated 1940’s home was bought to life with a full facelift and new rear extension. The brief was for a “fun but functional home”, one full of life and personality. Hard wearing, child and pet-friendly materials that were robust enough to handle this active family were chosen, while textured fabrics representing a lively colour palette complement the garden flora. Meticulous attention was given to the spatial planning resulting in each space having a meaningful purpose with an easy flow throughout. Consideration was also given for areas of sanctuary and respite for this busy household. The result is a light-filled, vibrant home with a focus on family living that connects seamlessly to the sundrenched garden beyond. While meeting the needs of its young inhabitants, there is also a level of sophistication that sets the tone for long dinner parties and alfresco cocktails.
